The Powerful Lakshmi Is Within Each of You – Celebrate Yourselves At Diwali
According to the Hindu religion Lakshmi is the Hindu goddess of wealth and good fortune. We bring fortune, power, beauty, wealth, fertility and prosperity to the household, and are considered to be the Mother Goddess. Worshipping the mother goddess has been part of the Indian tradition since its earliest times. There are many stories about Goddess Lakshmi, who incarnated herself many times to be with Vishnu, her husband.
Putting religion aside, let’s simply review the definition of Goddess Lakshmi and the fact that she was incarnated several times to support her husband. If that is not what us women do every day, then I will seriously stop blogging 😊.
Today’s women do not simply support their spouses and/or family, but we take our ambitions and fly, following our hearts and mind. I relate today’s woman to the Goddess of wealth. We bring good luck and positivity into our homes. We are the epitome of good fortune holding the family together, emerging as winners in all the multiple roles we play – including being a breadwinner. Juggling between the household and the workplace, we are self-sufficient leaders producing our own wealth in many cases, and not needing a man to support us.
So, this Diwali, before you worship or pray to anyone else, first celebrate yourself as your own Goddess.
Before you light candles and diyas for your house, light diyas for yourself and ignite your spirit of multi-tasking.
Before you distribute sweets to others, munch on one yourself and celebrate your dedication to everything you do.
A woman is the full circle, within her is the power to create, nurture and transform. Cheers to all of us empowered women who continue to make life better for everyone we connect with.
